News Update

In the midst of all this difficult and worrying time it has been heartening to witness the generosity and kindness that has come from many sources. Staff facing unprecedented challenges have been lifted by the support of the general public. A welfare appeal for funds to keep them in essentials while many cannot go home has been overwhelming in the response. From kind donations we have been able to provide: toiletries, hair dryers, microwaves, radios, food, drinks, and comforts to make their breaks more relaxing. The Charity has also paid for the driver and maintenance costs of a ‘Vans For Bands’ bus. A luxury tour bus has been parked in the hospital car park enabling staff to relax during their breaks away from the clinical setting. This has proved to be very popular.

We have also been amazed at communities coming together to provide meals for our staff who work around the clock and get very hungry.

Small and large businesses have been donating pizzas, ice cream, drinks and much more to honour our heroic staff who just keep going in extreme circumstances.

So thank you to everybody who has helped in whatever way you have been able. It really makes a difference to staff to know that as they care for you, you care for them.

How can you help your local hospital?

Well, you can stay away, if possible. Hillingdon is no longer permitting visitors to the hospital as all wards are closed to protect both you, and our patients and staff.

However, you can still support your hospital by making a donation to our staff welfare appeal at justgiving.com/campaign/NHSstaffatHillingdon

Many of our staff members are now locked down in the hospital, they cannot go home to see their children and families, they are dedicating their time to caring for their patients. They are in need of food basics, toiletries and basic comforts away from home.

The appeal is to help provide these much need comfort packages. As you donate, the Charity is releasing funds to provide this care for them.

THANK YOU!
