What have we been up to?

Hillingdon Hospital Charity was very busy in November/December getting ready for Christmas and for our biggest event of the year.

Some of things that have been going on include fantastic donations of toys and games to our Paediatric unit from Hasbro, Jato and Access Self Storage so thank you for all of those; Jato also made a sizeable donation for which we are really grateful. In addition we have been successful in obtaining funding from both the Amazon Foundation and the United Grand Lodge – we can now proceed with fitting the new kitchen in maternity that was donated by the Uxbridge Kitchen Company. We have also received great support recently from local branches of ASDA, Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. The Charity were also very happy to fund the Hospital’s Christmas Trees, staff Christmas breakfast and chocolates.

Looking forward, we are the Charity partner for the Hillingdon Half Marathon and 10k runs on 23rd February. We have sponsored runners from both the local community and within the Hospital, including our new CEO Sarah Tedford and the Charity will be out in force on the day providing drinks, snacks and support. This is our biggest event of the year and we hope to double the amount of money we made last year.
